I want to use a Parasol, but without a table. How do I ensure it won't tip over?

It is impossible to guarantee due to extreme windy conditions.. However, if you plan to use a Parasol without a table, we recommend that the base is at least 50 kilos in weight for parasols up to 2.6m hexagonal and 65Kg for parasols up to 3.5m Octagonal. For larger parasols, over 3.0 metres, we recommend a 65 kilo base. Larger sizes should use a base in excess of 100Kg. All of our parasols are recommended with specific weights for the bases. Having said all that, if a parasol is used with common sense, you should have no problems. If in doubt, close the canopy.

What is the most sturdy parasol type?

Centre post parasols are more sturdy than side post (cantilever) parasols. It is worth noting that any parasol should be closed in strong winds.

Can I order on line?

No, not at this time. We offer a more personal and technical service to our clients over the telephone.

I have a Paul Reef Parasol that only needs a new canvas (the pole and struts are ok). Can you supply a canopy only?

I'm afraid not. Paul Reef parasols have not been made for over 10 years now. Today's standard sizes are not quite the same as the old Paul Reef sizes, so to get a new cover from another brand to fit, is virtually impossible.

I have a cantilever parasol and notice that it becomes unstable in moderate wind. Can this be improved?

Side post/cantilever type parasols are less stable than centre post. In the case of the Capri model for example, the canopy is suspended from above. So moderate to strong winds will affect the stability. If unsure, it is always wise to close the parasol in such conditions.

I live in Northern Ireland, do you charge delivery to ship here?

There is usually an additional cost, please ask.

I want a Parasol, but what weight does the base need to be?

It depends whether or not you intend to use a table. Most of our parasols listed indicate which size base you need with or without a table.

Are there any additional costs to the prices shown?

A delivery charge will apply. Occasional charges for next day, depending upon the delivery address.

If I buy a Parasol and decide I do not want it, can I return it for a refund?

We can accept a return within 7 days of the delivery date. However, there would be a handling charge. That said, we hope you will agree that your parasol is of a very high quality and you will want to keep it!

How can I pay?

Cheque, Bank transfer, or we do take most credit cards (excluding American Express).

Where are your parasols manufactured?

Our Parasol range is comprehensive and each brand comes from differing countries; Germany, Belgium, USA, South Africa, Italy and New Zealand. You may rest easy that all of the range is of the highest quality.

Can I buy your Umbrellas in the USA?

At the moment, we send directly from England. There is a dedicated website for America www.mortonpatioumbrellas.com  We would be pleased to quote a price for a door to door service.

Which Parasol will suit my table?

Parasols can be placed in the middle of a table or freestanding offset to one side, dependant on shade requirements. A Parasol offset to one side usually offers more shade. Both the round and rectangular parasols complement the round tables in our range. Equally, an octagonal or rectangular parasol can be just as effective with rectangular tables.

Can I collect my order from you?

Yes, you can collect. We are just 5 minutes from junction 11a of the M5 (east side of Gloucester).
